Villefranche Town & Marinière Beach
We recommend going to the beaches in Villefranche for people looking for a local experience, as the Riviera is famous for its small fishing villages. These beaches are a little more relaxed than the larger Nice beaches.
Don’t forget to have a look around the old town before or after spending time on the Villefranche beaches, with its colourful village houses, citadel with city hall and the open-air theatre.
Marinières Beach, Villefranche.
The Marinières Beach is the principal beach of Villefrance-sur-Mer, a large stretch of coarse sand well-known to locals and tourists, with ample space for all. The water is very clear and the beach affords lovely views of the sea dotted with white sails and the occasional superyacht.
There’s an excellent restaurant at the beach called Deli Bo, that serves fantastic fresh and delicious food. It’s a private beach, so you can rent a lounger and enjoy a beer or cocktails and some fantastic food, including a selection of delectable pastries.
The beach is easily accessible by both bus and train. You can take Bus 81 from Nice (next to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art) and get off at the stop Octroi, or else take the train – the train-station of Villefranche is on the beach!
